Arboretum & Botanical Garden

Outdoor Wedding Venues for the Perfect Moment

Cherry Valley Lodge is the only hotel in the United States to feature an arboretum and botanical garden. Serving as a beautiful backdrop for a romantic wedding or a relaxing evening stroll, the botanical garden features two meticulously landscaped courtyards, woodland paths, waterfalls, a gazebo and a duck pond.

Bluebird and Purple Martin boxes and other special features complement an incredible collection of more than 2,000 plantings representing 400 species. Our knowledgeable staff has identified, labeled and mapped each specimen in an ongoing labor of love to showcase the diversity of seasonal plants.

A favorite spot for wedding ceremonies and photos, the verdant Gazebo Garden features a variety of trees, shrubs and masses of flowers, offering a brilliant spectrum of colors from spring through autumn. Set in the middle of the pond and reached by a plank walkway, the gazebo offers a dramatic spot to view the pond and its surrounding flora and fauna. From here, a winding, natural stone path takes visitors on a journey of discovery. The quaint Wedding Arbor Garden features Endless Summer hydrangeas, a stone patio and pink and white Echinacea or coneflowers located just outside the library.

The woodsy Cascade Garden showcases trees and shrubs - Mother Nature’s portrait in browns and greens. Stepping stones meander through a collection of rare and beautiful specimens such as three-flower maple (Acer triflorum) and Turkish hazel (Corylus contorta).

Heirloom varieties including beautybush (Kolkwitzia amabilis) and winter honeysuckle (Loricera fragrantissima) add a touch of history. A steep slope, crowned by a ring of spruce trees, gives birth to twin streams cascading into a larger pond below.
